Emotiv EPOC headset
To prepare headset
Put saline solution on the foam pads in the black box.
Take out the sensors with the wet foam pads from the black box (turn the sensors to get them out).
Put the sensors on the headset (turn the sensors to click them in).
Put headset on head.
The two reference sensors (these are the sensors near the ears with no foam pads)
should be on the bone behind the ears.
The forehead sensors should be 3 fingerwidth above the eyebrows.
Download needed software
Go to Emotiv website
Login and enter password to Jing-Rebecca Li's account.
Go to My Account
Go to Downloads
Download EMOTIV Pure EEG Raw EEG Software
Download EMOTIV Control Panel Xavier Control Panel
Doing your projects
Use either Xavier Control Panel or Pure.EEG sofware to verify the sensors are all working (green).
If not, add saline solution to foam pad and move the pad around, move hair away, etc.
Test your ideas first using Control Panel or Pure.EEG, don't record yet.
Record the EEG signal using Pure.EEG when you are ready to start the real experiments.
(I only paid for 250 recordings, each recording is maximum 30 minutes long. If you record for 35 minutes, it counts as 2 recordings).
So record only when you are ready to collect real data for your projects.
